How Bluebot Works

Updated over a week ago

Bluebot measures water flow using ultrasonic sensing technology. Instead of inserting parts into your pipe, Bluebot mounts externally and uses sound waves to measure how fast water is moving through the pipe.

How water flow is measured

Bluebot sends ultrasonic signals through the pipe and analyzes how those signals change as water flows. By measuring the difference in signal timing, Bluebot calculates:

  • Water flow rate

  • Total water usage over time

Because the sensor is external, there are no moving parts inside the pipe.

Accuracy you can trust

When installed and calibrated correctly, Bluebot provides highly accurate water usage measurements suitable for residential, commercial, and irrigation monitoring. Accuracy depends on:

  • Proper pipe size and material selection

  • Correct installation and sensor positioning

  • Completing setup steps such as scanning and zeroing when required

Smart, continuous monitoring

  • Bluebot continuously measures water flow

  • Data is transmitted to the cloud when connected

  • Readings appear in the app near real-time

  • Graphs and historical trends build over time

Designed for reliability

  • External, non-invasive installation

  • No internal pipe modifications

  • No wear from moving components

  • Built to operate reliably in a wide range of environments
